After numerous complaints against food, healthcare products, cosmetics, diet pills as well as medical appliances, Taobao.com will ban the sale of unlicensed goods on its website.

As of June 26, Taobao.com, China’s answer to Ebay, will require sellers of these goods to produce relevant certificates, information about their health licenses, inspection and quarantine qualification certificates or quality inspection qualification certificates, before selling their goods online.

The Internet auction website said that these are the basic documents that a legal manufacturer should have and can be easily obtained by sellers.
