Beijing has further tightened its pre-Olympic monitoring rules for international visitors heading to the capital. Inbound flights to Beijing must, from yesterday, report the personal
information of all passengers to the Beijing General Station of Exit
and Entry Frontier Inspection before landing, The Beijing News reported.
The required information "includes the names, nationality, gender, date
of birth and passport validity of all passengers and flight crew of
inbound planes" - and must be submitted to the Beijing authorities once
an international flight takes off.
Any airline which fails to supply the data, or offers inaccurate
information, "will be fined at least RMB10,000 per case", the report states.
