Shanghai R&D Centres Near 250 Mark
The city of Shanghai is home to 244 international research and development centres, the city's Economic Commission said in a statement. The figure was mentioned in an announcement that Shanghai has plans to "triple the number of companies setting up headquarters in Shanghai" by 2013. Currently, 180 foreign companies have set up their regional headquarters in Shanghai.
Geely to Export Cars to Europe and U.S.
China's carmaker
Geely Automobile Holdings said it will start exporting cars priced at
RMB100,000 to Europe and the United States by 2009. "We don't have a
detailed timetable for landing the models in the mature markets, but we
have prepared well by planning the launch with vehicles that match the
quality and standards of those markets," state media quoted Daniel Dai,
Geely's Vice President of International Business.
