Germany's Fraport AG has invested RMB490m in a joint venture to operate and manage the Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, the company announced in a press release.

Fraport has agreed to invest RMB490m in a partnership with the China
West Airport Group Aviation Logistics (Xi'an) Co. Ltd, China Aviation
Airport Investment Co. Ltd and China West Airport Group. The total
registered capital of the new company is RMB2 bn, of which the China
West Airport Group invested more than half and holds a 50.9 per cent
majority share, while Fraport and the Aviation Airport Investment each
holds 24.5 per cent.
The company is scheduled to start operation in September. Fraport said
it is the first foreign airport operator to invest in a Chinese airport that is not listed on the stock exchange.
