After a 5.7 per cent hike in May, consumer prices in Hong Kong
officially increased 6.1 per cent year-on-year in June, the government

against the HK Dollar by almost 7 per cent since January, and rising
food, energy and housing prices have all added to inflationary
pressures. As reported last week
, Hong Kong's Chief Executive Donald Tsang proposed a HKD11 bn
inflation relief package including food allowances and energy
subsidies.
