Investment For Olympics Tops RMB295 bn
Total investment for the Beijing Olympics has reached RMB295 bn since 2001, state media quotes a senior official of the Beijing municipal government. Most funds were invested in Beijing's urban design, infrastructure, energy and transportation projects and water supplies. Officially, some RMB130 bn was spent on constructing the Olympic venues.

Piaggio Eyes Second JV
Piaggio, one of Italy's largest scooter makers, has agreed a memorandum of understanding with Zongshen Industrial Group to elaborate on a potential joint venture for small commercial vehicles, state media reports. Both parties would hold an equal share in the JV and manufacture three- and four wheel vehicles in Chongqing. Piaggio and Zongshen already work together in Guangdong province, producing scooters for the Chinese market.
