Union Bank of India Opens HK Branch
The state-owned Union Bank of India has opened its first Hong Kong branch, the bank said in a press statement. UBI already has a representative office in Shanghai and is targeting companies in China for its retail, loan and trade services. The Union Bank of India operates 2,500 branches in India.

 

Metersbonwe Eyes IPO
Casual clothing manufacturer/retailer Metersbonwe Group, which has been using Taiwanese pop heart-throb and movie star Jay Chou in its advertising, said it is preparing for an initial public offering on the Shenzhen Stock Market, state media reports. The high street brand store is planning to issue 70 million A-shares or 10 per cent of its share capital this month. It is aiming to generate RMB1.8 bn in the IPO, with UBS as the leading underwriter.
