beijing-olympics-banner.jpgAs Beijing prepares for tonight's Olympic Opening Ceremony with heightened security across the whole city, several stories are emerging about Olympic ticket scams involving sporting events and the opening ceremony itself.

 

In one case, a tour company has admitted to overseas tourists that it did not purchase the Olympic tickets for which it has charged clients. In another, rumours abound that corporate client tickets for tonight's opening ceremony supplied to two of America's largest, highest-profile companies have proven to be fake.

In a separate incident, a Beijing restaurant owner was yesterday offered a ticket for tonight's opening ceremony by phone. The price? RMB200,000 (USD29,175)
