Pearl Hydrogen Power Resource has started exporting hydrogen fuel-cell mopeds to European countries and the United States, state media reports.
The Shanghai-based firm is selling its mopeds for EUR1,950 in Spain, a
price that is reportedly "25 per cent cheaper" than its competitors.
Shipments have also been despatched to the United Kingdom and the
United States. The Chinese company believes the price is the "major
advantage" for their moped. "We are capable of further reducing the
price to EUR1,500 or make it even as cheap as a normal e-bike", Shi
Tao, Marketing Director, was quoted.
The company, founded two years ago, said its fuel-cell mopeds can
travel at speeds of up to 80 kph with 50 grammes of hydrogen that costs
RMB2 at a charging station.
