China will launch the Shenzhou VII, its third manned spacecraft mission, between 25 and 30 September. During the mission, the Shenzhou VII will blast off atop the Long March-2F, and one of its the three astronauts will become the first Chinese to walk in space. China launched a new space tracking ship on 12 April to serve the Shenzhou VII spacewalk mission.
The craft will be launched from Jiuquan in Gansu province - and follows two previous manned spacecraft orbits, in 2003 and 2005 respectively.
According to local media, six astronauts have been chosen for the
mission, three of which will remain on stand-by. Shenzhou VII, which
means "divine vessel" in Chinese, passed the test inspections in July.
