DHL Completes Asia Hub, Deutsche Telekom Teams Up With VTech PDF Print E-mail

DHL Completes USD110m Asia Hub Expansion
Germany's DHL has completed its USD110m Central Asia Hub expansion, the company said in a statement. The facility is said to be the "first large-scale automated express hub in Asia Pacific", Reuters reports. DHL invested in total USD210m in the hub, which is located at the Hong Kong International Airport and is expected to handle 40 million shipments a year and 75,000 pieces per hour of flyers and conveyable shipments.

 

Deutsche Telekom and VTech Sign Agreement
Hong Kong-based VTech said Germany's Deutsche Telekom has chosen the company to supply exlusively corded and cordless telephones, state media reports. The phones are produced for the T-Home brand sold in Germany and first shipments are expected in early 2009. VTech will also be responsible for logistics and after-sales of the products. No financial details were disclosed.
