Who'd Have Believed It?

Five events this week in China that might raise a few eyebrows around the world:

• Summer Davos – the World Economic Forum's Meeting of the New Champions took place in Dalian.

• Fashion designer and Beatle daughter Stella McCartney launched her first China store in Shanghai.

• Seminal 80s hip hop legends Public Enemy played a concert in Beijing.

• The US dollar fell to a record low (7.533) against the Chinese RMB.

• An exhibition on Antoni Gaudi, entitled Cosmos Gaudi, Architecture, Geometry and Design, opened at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Shanghai.
