6 More Arrests in Dairy Scandal
Chinese police have detained six people suspected of producing and selling melamine, Reuters reports. The toxic chemical is the cause of China's ongoing contaminated   dairy products. The arrests were made in Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia, which is a key dairy-producing area. The arrests follow the detention last week of 22 people in Hebei province for suspected involvement in producing melamine and selling it to milk farms and purchasing stations.

"Golden Week" Sees Record Travel
Some 18.29 million people travelled in China during the National Day Golden Week" holiday, the National Tourism Administration said in a statement. This is an increase of 13.2 per cent compared to 2007. Olympic venues and the city of Beijing were reportedly 'hot' destinations. Visitor numbers to the Forbidden City increased almost 80 per cent on a year-on-year basis, officials said. The Olympic Green, home of the "Bird's Nest" National Stadium and the Water Cube
Aquatics Centre, recorded 2.17 million visits.
