China Recalls Ginseng Injections
Three people died in a hospital after receiving herbal injections, state media reports. The drug, made from Siberian gingseng, was recalled by the Health Ministry. Food and drug officials are investigating Wandashan Pharmaceutical, which has been making the drug for more than 30 years.

 

Dongfeng Starts Hybrid Production in 2009
Dongfeng Electric Vehicle Co will start production of its own hybrid car in early 2009, the AutoChannel reports. The company plans to produce 5,000 units a year in its Wuhan plant. Other hybrid cars, including Toyota's Prius and Honda's Civic, are expected to sell 1,000 and 200 units this year.
