ZTE Wins Indian Contract
China's largest public telecoms equipment maker ZTE will supply mobile phone network equipment to India's Aircel, state media reports.The contract is valued at USD400m, and ZTE will provide GSM equipment. The company hopes to "get further deals in the future" in the Indian market, according to a statement.

 

WIFI For Chinese Mobile Phones This Year
"At the end of this year," China will activate WIFI functions for mobile phones in the domestic market, a top official at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is quoted by state media. The spokesperson said it is expected that WIFI enabled phone sales will hit 200 to 300 million in 2009, of which half will be sold in the domestic market.
