The race is hotting up for the final two available places at the season-ending ATP Tennis Masters Cup in Shanghai. Britain’s Andy Murray moved to within three points of Tommy Haas, currently No. 8 in the ATP 2007 Race to Shanghai, following his title triumph at the St. Petersburg Open.

The top eight players will qualify for the ATP Tennis Masters Cup in Shanghai from 11-18 November. Two playing berths are still up for grabs, with just one tournament, this week's BNP Paribas Masters, remaining.

At the ninth and final ATP Masters Series event of the season in Paris the player winning the title will receive 100 points, with 70 for the runner-up and 45 for the semifinalists. Spaniard David Ferrer became the sixth qualifier for Shanghai, joining Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Nikolay Davidenko and Andy Roddick.

Each of the eight finalists will feature in an exhibition of eight tennis terracotta warrior sculptures, based on the famous Qin Dynasty tomb warriors unearthed in Xi'an in central China.
