Samsung to Sponsor 2008 Beijing Paralympics
Samsung Electronics has signed a sponsorship deal with the Chinese government to provide technical support for mobile communications during the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing. As part of the deal, Samsung will be able to place logos and mascots of the 2008 Paralympic Games on its products. "We wish to be a help for those confronted with adversity by joining the sports event involving not just 90 million disabled people in China but also others worldwide," said Park Keun-hee, Head of Samsung’s China Operation.

China GDP Unlikely To Top Germany's in 2007
China is unlikely to surpass Germany in GDP terms this year, Chinese media reports. The Chinese economy is expected to grow 11.5 per cent this year, while Germany's growth is estimated to be less than three per cent, which prompted analysts to predict China would replace Germany as the world’s third-largest economy. However, the National Bureau of Statistics says that because the euro is appreciating relatively faster than the yuan, China's GDP won't surpass Germany this year. In 2006, China's GDP stood at USD2.7 trillion, compared with Germany's USD2.86 trillion.
