In October, we published an article entitled 10 Things You Might Not Know About Ningbo – which became one of our most popular features of 2007. Our point was that, although all eyes are turning to Beijing in this Olympic year (already, just three days into 2008, the capital's new motto "We Are Ready" is ubiquitous across the Chinese media), Ningbo will also have its own reason to celebrate in 2008.
This wealthy and ambitious port city located halfway down the eastern
seaboard in Zhejiang province, will soon be just two hours drive from
Shanghai – thanks to the world’s longest sea bridge, spanning the
Hangzhou Bay that separates the two cities, which is nearing opening.
So, in case you are considering visiting or working in Ningbo this year
– or just taking a drive along the bridge – here are two features we
have recently written (for That’s Shanghai and Travel Age West) that
give more of an insight for this hot tip city pick for 2008.
