Business commuters between Hong Kong and mainland China will soon have a new flight option, after Hong Kong Express Airways was granted approval to operate flights between Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing.
Hong Kong Express Airways is the third carrier – after Cathay
Pacific and Dragonair – to gain regulatory approval to fly from Hong
Kong to mainland China. The company will lease six Boeing 737-800
aircrafts to meet the increased demand. No details were divulged
regarding the pricing structure of the new flights.
"It has always been our goal to provide services on
these key routes, so naturally we are overjoyed at seeing our goal
realized," said Ronnie Choi, President of Hong Kong Express Airways.
