The General Administration of Civil Aviation of China will unveil, on 1 March, a new system for charging airlines using domestic airports. Once implemented, foreign and Hong Kong and Macau airlines are expected to pay reduced costs for using domestic airports.
Under the plan, Chinese airports will be classified into four groups,
and a graded pricing system will be set for each group. CAAC said that
the aim is to standardise the aviation charging system for mainland
international flights, and flights to Hong Kong and Macau within five
years.
