hangzhou.gifThe Chinese government approved plans to construct a new high-speed railway link between Nanjing and Hangzhou. 

 

The travel time between the two second tier cities will be reduced from eight hours to just over one hour. The link will 251 km long and include 11 stations. Construction starts this year. It is estimated that the link will be completed in 2011.
