Nokia and China Postel have agreed to sell USD2 bn worth of handsets and mobile devices this year, and will work more closely on integrating distribution channels and marketing in China.
The two companies signed a first-phase deal last year, after China
Postel chose Nokia for a USD2.5 bn handset order, Forbes reports. The
Chinese company has a 30 per cent share of the wholesale segment in the
Chinese phone market.
David Tang, Nokia's Vice President of Sales in China, said it sold
70.7 million mobile phones in China in 2007, representing a 35 per cent
market share.
