Here we go again - the Shanghai Disneyland saga continues. Walt Disney company will build a theme park in Pudong, Shanghai, state media reports. But wait. The official announcement is expected to be made "before the Beijing Olympics in August." So, we are still waiting.
As we reported earlier,
Shanghai's Mayor Han Zheng said the city is still awaiting approval
from the National Development and Reform Commission. This has
apparently now been granted, according to state media. The project
go-ahead was 'granted' on March 9, and the theme park will be located
at Chuangsha town in Pudong. The announcement of Asia's third
Disneyland, following Hong Kong and Tokyo, has been fraught with
bureaucratic delays.
