The General Admisistration of Civil Aviation in China (CAAC) has announced the 2008 Summer-Autumn flight schedule, which will take effect between 30 March 30 and 25 October. There will be 41 new routes - 14 domestic and 27 international - with new international flight destinations includeingAlgeria and Seattle.
Some 23 airlines will operate 30,245 weekly flights on domestic routes. Domestic airlines will operate 3,223 weekly international flights connecting to 48 countries and 106 cities; and there will be 1,190 weekly flights between 36 mainland cities and Hong Kong and Macau.
CAAC will continue to control daily flights in ten major airports, incuding Beijing Capital International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao Airport. More than 130 airports have been allowed to open new routes or to increase the flight frequencies.
