Taiwan investments in the mainland has tallied up to US$46.1b since the cross-strait investments opened, accounting for 6% of total overseas capital.
Taiwan, the mainland’s seventh largest trade partner is said to may
have exceeded US$100b if indirect investments are accounted for. Last
year alone saw a total investment of USD1.77 bn for over three thousand
government approved projects with Taiwan.
Over 75,000 Taiwan-funded companies have entered the mainland in the past 20 years.
