TNT, which last week landed its inaugural Boeing 747-400 ER Freighter in Singapore, will invest EUR100m over the next five years to boost its regional network.
With Singapore as its southeast Asian hub, the company is aiming to
boost freight express services between Southeast Asia, China and
Europe, and enhance its Asia Road Network, which links 120 cities in
Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and China.
According to James
McCormac, TNT's Chief Operating Officer, freight volumes between China
and Europe increased by more than 20 per cent in 2007.
