President Pervez Musharraf is pressing for the construction of gas and oil pipelines between Pakistan and China, to strengthen bilateral ties.

“Pakistan is very much in favor of a pipeline between the Gulf and China through Pakistan, and I have been speaking about this with your leadership,” Musharraf is quoted as saying to students and academics at Tsinghua University in Beijing on his six-day visit to China which ends April 15.

Media reports that he said a proposed gas pipeline between Iran and India through Pakistan could be expanded to include China.
