Italian luxury brand Gucci has won a trademark lawsuit against Senda Group, a Jiangsu province-based shoemaker, after a Shanghai court fined the Chinese company RMB180,000 for infringing Gucci's trademark.
The People's Court of Shanghai's Pudong District ruled that Senda's
sandals with its "interlocking GG" were too similar to the Italian
company's shoe models. Earlier this month, chocolatier Ferrero won a
similar case against China's Montresor, which was ordered to pay
RMB500,000 in damages after it found that Montresor's gold wrapped
chocolates looked too similar to Ferrero's Rocher.
