US phone maker Motorola has received a 3G network access license from China Mobile to supply phones compatible with China’s 3G standard.
Motorola has worked out the company's first GSM/TD (time division-synchronous code division multiple access) dual mode mobile phone, which can roam between existing networks and the 3G network, China Business News reports. The dual mode mobile phone is said to take part in the second batch of 3G phone bids of China Mobile will appear on the domestic market if accepted.
It now joins the top joint venture mobile phone makers in China Nokia, Samsung and LG who have a 3G license now.
