China Southern Adds London to New Flight Network
China's Southern Airlines will launch up to eight new international routes in 2008, the company says, in order to boost its global network. Among the new routes is a weekly flight from Beijing to London, starting from the fourth quarter of this year. Currently, China Southern Airlines generates 19 per cent of its profit from overseas flights.

 

Construction of Hong Kong Rail Link Set for 2009
Construction for the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link will start in 2009, according to Hong Kong's Secretary for Transport and Housing has Eva Cheng. The new link will cut travel time from Hong Kong to Guangzhou to 48 minutes. The project is slated to cost HKD39.5 bn, and is scheduled to be completed in 2014.
