China has called for a year long hold on entrance fees at tourism sites, in an attempt to control growing price increases.

Consumer inflation, which hit a high of 8.7 percent early this year, have dropped to 8.3 percent in March but still well above the government’s goal of 4.8 percent. Most foods have seen an increase in prices.

It is reported that admission fees at some tourism sites were too high and that government bodies suggested that cuts are made if the country aims to promote the healthy development of tourism.
