China to Launch Telecom Restructuring in May PDF Print E-mail

china_telecom.jpgChina is said to proceed with the restructuring of its telecoms industry in May.


Reports have it that the current president of China Mobile, Wang Jianzhou will be joined by the chairman of China Unicom, Chang Xiaobing who will assume his position at China Mobile as a senior executive. Director of the telecoms regulatory committee, Su Jinsheng will join China Telecom.

It is also reported that the reorganization will have general manager of China Netcom, Zhang Chunjiang, will take control of China Unicom, as well as its GSM business, once they merge. China Telecom aims to purchase China Unicom’s CDMA business.
