yum.jpgYum! Restaurants Group, best known for its Pizza Hut and KFC outlets, is aiming an expansion of 425 new chain restaurants which will be cooking up Chinese breakfasts.

 

In addition to launching breakfast services this year, it also plans to experiment with 24-hour KFC restaurants and enlarge its distribution services. Rival Papa John’s which, as we reported earlier, is planning to increase its number of restaurants by 500 in the next five years, seeking to catch up with Yum! Brand’s Pizza Hut. There are currently 100 Papa John’s restaurants in China and this year it plans to launch 40 to 50 more.

The Yum! Group, which last year has cornered a profit of USD375m, expects that the contribution from the China market could reach 40 per cent by 2017, which will surpass the U.S market’s 30 percent by that time.
