China Eastern Airlines has opened a direct passenger and cargo service from Sanya to Moscow. At present, there will be one flight every two weeks, and the flight takes around eleven hours.
Prior to the launch, only one Russian airline, Transaero, operated
non-stop flights from Moscow to Sanya – which proved insufficient given
that 151,100 Russian tourists, up 76 per cent year on year, visited
Sanya in 2007.
Meanwhile, Air Berlin has launched direct flights from Beijing and
Shanghai to Dusseldorf. The service will offer five flights a week on
each route – departing every day except Wednesday and Saturday from
Beijing, and every day except Thursday and Sunday from Shanghai.
