China Vehicle Imports Rise Steeply
China imported 103,200 vehicles in the first quarter of 2008, according to statistics of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. This represents an increase of 74.54 per cent compared to the same 2007 period. Imports of luxury cars including Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and BMW, by 82 per cent.

 

Beijing Regulates Bus Advertisements
The Beijing Quality Supervision Bureau said that as of 1 July, buses in the capital are no longer allowed to run advertisements on the front and the rear. The new regulation applies to buses that are longer than six metres, the Beijing Daily Messenger reports. At the same time, the Bureau set speed, noise and air conditioning limitations for public transportation vehicles. New buses must be in use for more than 3,000 kilometres without any malfunctions.
