Toyota Invests RMB1.5 bn in Tianjin
Toyota has announced it will invest RMB1.5 bn in its joint venture with First Automotive Works to increase production capacities from 420,000 to 470,000 cars. The JV produces Toyota's Vios, Crown, Reiz and Corolla models. Toyota also said that it has suspended production at its Sichuan site until Wednesday morning due to the earthquake to assess the condition of the plant.


China and North Korea Seek Closer Economic Ties
Some 125 Chinese companies, including Haier, Konka, TCL and Jiangsu Jincheng Motors, attend the 11th Pyongyang International Trade Fair held this week in South Korea's capital. Dong Songgen, Vice Chairman of the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), said that "the Chinese enterprises hope to cooperate with the DPRK in the fields of processing business, compensation trade, resource development and cooperative joint ventures." Chinese trade and investment in North Korea now exceeds USD2 bn.
