China’s goal of doubling its GDP per capita by 2010 could become a reality, the World Trade Organisation says.
The growth rate of the country’s economy towards the end of last year was believed to be 11.4 per cent, state media reports.
According to a report released by the World Trade Organisation (WTO)
China could therefore reach its goal of doubling GDP per capita in 2010
compared to the 2000 level on the proviso that the country tackles
social and economic imbalances and continue with its proposal to
enlarge government expenditure on social services such as health,
education, and basic pensions.
