- State media reports that the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has allocated RMB150m for emergency repair and reconstruction work of infrastructure that was damaged in the earthquake-hit areas in provinces of Gansu, Shaanxi, Yunnan and Chongqing Municipal City.
- The U.S. government says that visitor arrivals to the United States from South Korea, China and India grew by 9 per cent, 28 per cent and 13 per cent, respectively, in February - and 5 per cent, 31 per cent and 14 per cent so far in 2008.
