The Civil Aviation Department in Hong Kong has approved higher fuel charges for 11 airlines that fly to and from the city, state media reports.
The 11 airlines are: Aeroflot, Air Canada, Air China, Air Mauritius,
All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, China Eastern Airlines,
Pakistan International Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Singapore Airlines
and Turkish Airlines. Royal Nepal Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines
will, for now, keep their charges at the current level.
As of 1 June, the charges will increase by between 22 and 39 per cent,
or HKD125 and HKD171, for "short routes" and HKD518 and HKD710 for long
distance routes.
Earlier this week, Chinese carriers China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines announced higher fuel charges for their flights from and to China.
