Volkswagen Recalls 178,000 Sedans
Volkswagen's joint venture with China's First Auto Works (FAW) is recalling 178,731 Audi sedans "to fix faulty ignition coils," Reuters reports. This includes China-made Audi A4, A6 and A6L that were produced between 2001 and 2006, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said. The total cost for the recall has not yet been announced by Volkswagen.


Accor Opens 41 Ibis Hotels
French hotel chain Accor said it has plans to open 41 hotels under its economy brand Ibis this and the next year in China, Trading Markets quoted Robert Murray, Accor's Assistant President for the Greater China Region.  In 2008, Ibis hotels will open in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Suzhou and Harbin. Accor already runs 12 Ibis hotels in China. The French have also plans to open several five-star hotels under the name 'Pullman' by 2010.
