Chinese home appliance dealer, Gome has agreed to be the sole retailer of PC maker BenQ products at its outlets nation-wide.
Its partner companies such as Gome Electrical, Yongle and Dazhong will
start off with selling BenQ laptops and desktop computers as of this
month but will later stock the PC maker’s projectors and other
products. Gome, which started selling Dell PCs at its outlets in 2007,
has last year seen a 130 per cent increase in its sale of desktop
computers and 200 per cent in its sale of laptops, media reports.
The company’s vice president is quoted as saying that “Gome will
enlarge the sale of IT products through strengthening the direct-supply
cooperation with IT companies like BenQ,” It aims to rake in RMB1
bn by selling 200,000 BenQ computers this year.
