benq.jpgChinese home appliance dealer, Gome has agreed to be the sole retailer of PC maker BenQ products at its outlets nation-wide.

Its partner companies such as Gome Electrical, Yongle and Dazhong will start off with selling BenQ laptops and desktop computers as of this month but will later stock the PC maker’s projectors and other products. Gome, which started selling Dell PCs at its outlets in 2007, has last year seen a 130 per cent increase in its sale of desktop computers and 200 per cent in its sale of laptops, media reports.

The company’s vice president is quoted as saying that “Gome will enlarge the sale of IT products through strengthening the direct-supply cooperation with IT companies like BenQ,” It aims to rake in RMB1 bn by selling 200,000 BenQ computers this year.
