Samsung Builds TV Facility in China
South Korea's Samsung has announced plans to build a new manufacturing unit for LCD TVs in China. It is not clear yet where the plant will be located: "since the investment is risky, we are not making a final decision over the site [yet]", a senior company official told Korean newspapers. Two cities rumoured to be considered are Suzhou and Guangzhou. Samsung already operates an LCD factory in Suzhou that supplies monitors and notebook computers.

Alibaba Merges Koubei & Yahoo China
Alibaba.com, China's leading e-trading website, has integrated Yahoo China and Koubei.com into one one company. "Yahoo Koubei will focus on  e-commerce, communities and communications," Jin Jianhang, President of China Yahoo said. He will act as the President of the merged company. Alibaba's Chairman Jack Ma said the new company will help "small and medium enterprises… to survive, grow and develop and serve as a lifestyle service platform for ordinary Chinese consumers."
