Increasing fuel prices have forced Taiwan's major airlines, China Airlines and EVA Airways, to cut 10 per cent of their flights, CNN reports.
China Airlines is cutting 100 passenger flights a month, mainly to the
U.S. and Asia, said spokesman Bruce Chen to CNN. The airline will also
slash 50 all-cargo flights a month. EVA Airways will reportedly axe up
to five per cent of its passenger flights between 1 September to 1
December.
As reported earlier, China Southern and China Eastern Airlines both
cut flights to Asian, European, African and American destinations,
including routes to Seoul, Paris and Los Angeles.
Other airlines have also announced higher fuel charges for flights from Hong Kong to China and other destinations.
