ups.jpgThe government has given UPS the okay to offer its express services to athletes and media customers in the Olympic Village during the summer Games in Beijing.

UPS will reportedly be opening four express stores in July, one of which will be in the Athletes’ Village, Media Village, the press center and the international broadcasting center. In this way, athletes and members of the media can receive and send packages from the relevant stores.

In measures to ensure mail safety, the State Post Bureau have solicited China Courier Service Corporation to manage EMS services, while UPS has been given the go-ahead to run entry-exit goods express and other ad-hoc postal services.

Media reports that other postal enterprises should refrain from receiving or sending goods from or to places such as offices and stadiums that are related to the Olympic Games.
