IHG has currently 30,000 employees working for Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Express Holiday Inn in China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, COO Edmond Ip said in a meeting with the press in Shanghai. As the group will expand rapidly in the next three years with several new hotel openings, IHG needs up to 20,000 more employees, he said.

IHG runs currently 86 hotels in China and is the biggest hotel group in the country. This week, IHG announced it is cooperating with ChinaPay e-Payment Service Co, offering real-time online UnionPay bank card payments, state media reports.
