alipay_logo.jpgAlibaba's subsidiary, Alipay has teamed up with Australia's Paymate to launch Chinese shopping platform Hai Wai Bao.

This joint venture between Alipay and Paymate will give Chinese consumers the opportunity to shop on Australian websites that are embedded with Paymate's payment tool. No doubt this will be an obstacle for Paypal, which is believed to have been under an anti-monopolization investigation by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission, for forcing users to use the payment tool, provided by Ebay.

Alipay has signed 200 businesses in 12 countries and regions, including Japan, Singapore, Canada, the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, South Korea and Europe, for overseas payment help for Chinese consumers.
