Last week, Chinese and foreign media reported that China's State Intellectual Property Office is investigating Microsoft and other foreign software firms. All not true, says the government agency involved.
As reported last Thursday, Microsoft and other foreign software
companies came under investigation by the Chinese State Intellectual
Property Office for potential "monopoly activities". The claim, first reported by the Shanghai Securities News, has now been denied by China's State Intellectual Property Office.
China's new anti-monopoly law will take effect on 1 August. It is possible that the government agency and Chinese companies will wait until then to start an investigation and file lawsuits.
